Our third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, clearly stated: "The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government."
As Christians, we have a Scriptural mandate to build a Culture of Life! The following issues directly and negatively impact the respect for human life and dignity, and are a direct violation of the Constitutional rights of all Americans:
Abortion
Abortion is the deliberate terminiation of a pregnancy by killing the unborn child. Such an act, willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law. Abortion violates an unborn Americans inalienable right to life and is a violation of the fifth commandment of the law of God, though shalt not kill.
Modern medicine has proven unequivocally that that the child is a unique human being with his own specific set of DNA from the moment of fertilization. Human life begins at conception, a fact which cannot be questioned.

"As long as there is abortion, there will always be war." - Mother Theresa of Calcutta
Stem Cell Research
As Christians, we support ethical stem cell research, such as stem cell research using adult and umbilical cord stem cells, which have already produced many cures and therapies. We do not support embryonic stem cell research, whether from "discarded" embryos or from newly-created cloned embryos.
Most stem cell research uses cells obtained from adult tissue, umbilical cord blood, and other sources that pose no moral problem. Useful stem cells have been found in bone marrow, blood, muscle, fat, nerves, and even the pulp of baby teeth. Some of these cells are already being used to treat people with a wide variety of diseases. Today, adult stem cells have been used to help people with Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, sickle-cell anemia, heart damage, corneal damage, and dozens of other conditions.
However, stem cell research that involves a human embryo is morally and objectively wrong because harvesting these cells kills the living human embryo. As Christians who respect the Sancity of Human Life, we staunchly oppose the direct destruction of innocent human life for any purpose, including stem-cell research.
Ten Great Myths regarding Stem Cell Research
Human Cloning
As Christians, we are fully and unequivocally opposed to any form of human cloning. With the advancement of technology, it is now possible for scientists, pragmatists, and other egotists to "play God" with human life. The sanctity and dignity of human life is directly threatened by continued human cloning research efforts. The Christian Citizenship Council strongly supports legislative efforts that would stop any and all human cloning activities and research.
Euthanasia
Euthanasia is an action or an omission which, of itself or by intention, causes the death of a handicapped, sick, or dying person. Proponents of this gravely evil act often attempt to justify the act as a means of eliminating suffering. Euthanasia violates every Americans inalienable right to life and is a violation of the fifth commandment of the law of God, though shalt not kill.
Euthanasia is often defined by its supporters as helping an individual who is suffering to die with dignity. Liberals, leftists, and other so-called "free thinkers" consider it the merciful thing to do. It is often referred to as physician assisted suicide, mercy killing, physician aid in dying, imposed death or other euphemistic names.
Euthanasia is the killing of people whose lives have value. These people all have immeasurable value because they have been created in the image and likeness of God. Whether a person is disabled, elderly or infirm, a person's human dignity is never diminished. These persons lives are being threatened and terminated unjustly, so it is our duty as fellow citizens and Americans to protect and defend them.
" ... Nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law." - Amendment XIV, United States Constitution
Pornography
Pornograpy is the sexually explicit depiction of persons which is created with the primary, proximate aim of eliciting signicant sexual arousal on the part of the consumer of such materials. It consists in removing the sexual acts from the intimacy of the human person, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against the family, because it perverts procreation, which is rightly the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does serious and lasting injury to the actors, producers, vendors, and the public, since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who indulge in pornography in the damaging illusion of a fantasy world. It is a serious offense against the sixth commandment of the law of God and the dignity of the human person, especially women and children. Local, state, and national authorities have a grave moral obligation to stop the production and distribution of pornography.

Homosexuality
Homosexuality is the attraction or orientation toward persons of the same sex and includes sexual acts between persons of the same sex. Homosexual acts are intrinsically and morally wrong because they ultimately destroy the human person and are a grave violation of God’s purpose for human procreation. Homosexuality is primarily characterized by the act of sodomy, which all civilized societies have rightly condemned.

Same-Sex Unions (aka "gay-marriage")
The movement for same-sex marriage has triggered an unprecedented crisis in the social norms and laws governing marriage. All great civilizations have sought to unite, in the institution of marriage, the bond of sexual intimacy, childbearing and childrearing, and lifelong love between adults. But the last five decades have witnessed the erosion of marriage as a public institution in the developed world. Human persons, by choosing to engage in homosexual acts, harm the great goods of marriage and of their own bodily capacity for the marital act, which is by definition a self-giving which constitutes a communion of persons.
In Lawrence v. Texas, the Supreme Court justices struck down a state law prohibiting homosexual sodomy in a ruling so broad as to, in the words of dissenting Justice Antonin Scalia, "dismantle the structure of constitutional law that has permitted a distinction to be made between heterosexual and homosexual unions, insofar as formal recognition in marriage is concerned." A majority of justices have made clear that they share the view, common in elite circles of liberalism, that traditional standards of sexual morality are outmoded, and distinctions of any kind between heterosexual and homosexual conduct are rooted in prejudice and amount to bigotry. Accordingly, these social engineers masquerading as judges, will most certainly strike down any legislative act by which Congress seeks to preserve the traditional understanding of marriage or uphold the authority of states to do so.
Separation of Church and State
The so-called" Separation of Church and State" is no where in the United States Constitution. The religion clause of the First Amendment clearly states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Not only is there no reference to the "Separation of Church and State", there is also no reference to what the church shall not do. It refers only to restrictions on Congress. It doesn't tell the American people that they can't pray in school or that a nativity scene can't be displayed in a public park. The religion clause of the First Amendment was meant to restrain the power of the federal government from infringing on the religious freedoms of the people!
George Washington himself, who presided over the Constitutional Convention, passionately stated: "If I could have entertained the slightest apprehension that the Constitution framed in the Convention, where I had the honor to preside, might possibly endanger the religious rights of any ecclesiastical Society, certainly I would never have placed my signature to it." - reply to Virginia United Baptist Churches, May 10, 1789
James Madison, who was the chief architect of the Constitution, said: "There is not a shadow of right in the general government to intermeddle with religion." - June 12, 1778 to the Virginia Convention
The phrase "Separation of Church and State" does not appear anywhere in our Constitution or in any of our country's official documents. It does, however, appear in another prominent document, the Constitution of the former Soviet Union: "The church in the U.S.S.R. is separated from the state and the school from the church" (Article 52).
